Easy Peasy Flower Pattern & Tutorial

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my very first blog post. I am equal parts nervous and excited about this. Crochet has become such an integral part of my life that this blog just felt like a logical next step. And all this is happening because of the amazing community of crafters on Instagram.

Ok, so about these flowers.

This is such an easy pattern to make. 3 rounds and you are done!

So lets start.

Materials

Any yarn and a hook corresponding to the yarn size (I have used 10ply cotton yarn and a 5mm hook for the flowers here)

A pair of scissors

A darning needle

US Abbreviations                                                      

st – stitch

sl st – slip stitch

sk – skip

ch- chain

ch-sp – chain space

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

Pattern & Tutorial

Round 1

Make a slip knot. Ch 4 and sl st in the last chain from the hook to form a circle. Ch 3 (counts as first dc) and then make 13 dcs in the circle. Join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the first ch 3. Break yarn and weave in the ends. (Total – 14dcs)

Round 2

Sl st in any one of the dcs from the previous round. Ch 4, sk 1 dc and sc in top of the next dc. (ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc in top of next dc) 5 times. Ch 3, sk 1 dc and then sl st in the 1st ch of the first 4 ch’s made. Now you can add another colour here or continue with the same yarn. (Total – 7 3ch-sp)

Round 3

In the first ch 3 sp, make 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 tr , 1 dc, 1 hdc and then make a sl st in the same ch sp. Make (1hdc, 1dc, 2tr, 1dc, 1hdc, sl st) in the next 6 ch 3 spaces from the previous round. Sl st in the first hdc, break yarn and weave in the ends. (Total – 7 petals)

And Voila! You just made your first Easy Peasy Flower.

Now you can stop at just one but where’s the fun in that!!

Yay I’m so excited, I found this easy to understand unlike many patterns that confuse me completely. I love the styling on your post too. Beautiful. I appreciate your flowers and it seems very nice, I found a similar pattern and I thought that is such a beautiful craft, my back room is all lighter shades and a really calm feeling whilst I have been doing a small amount of work in there. I thought they look beautiful and it is nice for me to see yours different and a really nice effect.

  25. Thank you so much for this very easy to follow tutorial! I have been crocheting all my life but never learned how to make flowers. I just found your pattern yesterday and have already made 6 flowers! Already in a flow like I’ve been making them for years! The last one I just finished minutes ago, I tried a variation on the 7 petal. I decreased the tr by 1. It makes for slightly pointy petals. I plan to put the flowers onto crocheted slippers but haven’t quite figured out how to attach them.. Do you have any tips? Thanx again!
